Joy

We are struggling with colds at our house.
I'm so thankful, though, for the holiday and the little break from schooling
and that there is still joy!!

:: hot tea, lots of soup, Anne of Green Gables,
and snuggling up with good books ::
that's been our day!
How I want the story of Christmas to reach my heart and the hearts of my kids.
:: JESUS ::

"We must both read and meditate upon the nativity.
If the meditation does not reach the heart, we shall sense no sweetness,
nor shall we know what solace for humankind lies in this contemplation.
The heart will not laugh nor be merry.
As spray does not touch the deep, so mere meditation will not quiet the heart.
There is such richness and goodness in this nativity that if we should see and
deeply understand, we should be dissolved in perpetual joy. "
~Martin Luther

Dear Father, I know that true, lasting joy is found in YOU
and the gift of your Son. . .
not in the things of this world~
Help my focus and business this Christmas be on what is important!!
May the story of the nativity reach my
family's heart in new and wonderful ways this week.
In Jesus name, Amen
