We are so proud of our dear Abby. She has continued to persevere with Irish Dancing,
and this past St. Patrick's Day week she performed at a number of different venues.
She has improved so much over this past year, and actually moved into an
official "school dress."
She was loaned this beautiful black and white dress for her performances:
You'll notice that she also has lots and lots of curls. Her daddy found her this
fancy wig on ebay .... and made her day by winning it for her!!
I will say, it was MUCH better than having to curl her hair for each performance.
She performed at two different schools and a nursing home this year,
along with the BIG performance down town.
Just like last year, Abby and I walked in the St. Patrick's day parade,
and then took the train over to the Seattle Center for her performance.
At the Seattle Center, she danced three times. This was her first time going out...
Evidently, she was suppose to go on stage with another girl, who had not
shown up. At the last minute, Abby was told she was going to be doing
a solo. Talk about pressure. She didn't skip a beat though, even when her cape
came undone. You'll notice in the video, she calmly grabs it and keep on going.
I was so proud of her!!
And in this particular dance, she was asked to help the little "tots" class with
their performance. Super-duper CUTE!!
It's always fun to look back at how we've grown and changed. That's what
I love about blogging!! If you are interested in seeing the dancing queen's
pictures from last year's performance, click here.
Abby plans to continue her dancing this next school year, and hopes
that in next year's performance she will also be dancing in
hard shoes!!
