Catching up: July 28-31, 2014
We had a lovely family get-away to Seaside, Oregon last summer. We had originally planned to rent a cabin in Leavenworth, but there were bad fires this particular month and we cancelled our reservations about a week before. We were worried about the air quality hindering our time.
The Lord was so gracious so us, and as we started looking for somewhere else for our family, we happened upon this rental in Seaside .... a block from the ocean. The only available dates were the three nights we needed (in fact normally they would not let you book only three nights.)
It was so obviously God's gift to our family.
We had a sweet, relaxing time exploring the Oregon coast for the first time since moving to the Northwest. We beach combed (came home with tons of sand dollars), read, played games,
and took long walks. Some of the kids even braved the cool water!
We also got to visit some dear friends from San Diego who now live in Astoria,
and also visited the beautiful Canon Beach.
A highlight for me was meeting the artist William Steidel. His studio, located
in the heart of Canon Beach, was so whimsical it took my breath away!!
We came home with a magical print which we quickly framed
and hung in our living room in order to remember our time.
